Roberta Bortolucci was born in Bologna in 1953. After having obtained a degree in Teaching, with a specialisation in Psychology, she founded Metha Sistemi – a Consultancy and Company Management firm – in 1987. She has been the President of the Academic Centre for Equal Opportunities research and development – Progetto Donna [Project Female] – since 1993 and President of the ADI [Female Innovation Companies] Association since 2008. She has also, since 2009, been the Secretary-General of the D52 Association, a network of women who promote gender equality in harmony with EU directives.
In terms of institutional roles, she has been an Expert at the Regional Board (Emilia-Romagna) for Female Entrepreneurship since 2005. She was a Member of the National Equality Committee – Law 125/91 – between 1999 and 2004. In 2002, she entered the Technical Scientific Committee in order to design Empowerment and Gender Mainstreaming initiatives within the Employment Ministry. In 2002, she coordinated an équipe that provided technical support to the Department for Equal Opportunities.
She undertakes, at both the national and European level, planning, research and consulting activities relating to Equal Opportunities in the workplace. An expert in the psychology of change and personal growth, she also engages in training activities within companies. She has authored numerous publications and participated in conferences in Italy and abroad.
