She has a degree cum laude in Environmental Engineering (University of Bologna), a Master’s in Management (Solay’s School of Management – Vrije Universiteit Brussel) and a PhD (Department of Economics – University of Bologna).
Silvia Grandi began her career as a project manager in Procter & Gamble in Brussels. She then returned to Italy in 2000 and took on the role of Innovation and Technologies Manager for the Centuria-RIT Scientific and Technological Park.
She has been working for the Institute for Industrial Promotion (IPI) in Rome since late 2002. As a manager, she deals with national and international policies/programmes for small to medium enterprises, innovation and technological transfer, internationalisation and university-company relations.
She is also a lecturer at the University of Bologna and University of Modena and Reggio-Emilia. She has undertaken research activity at Yale University, University of Newcastle, University of Sussex and Vrije Universiteit Brussel. She has authored various publications on economic development, R&D, innovation, internationalisation, development cooperation, territorial marketing and tourism.
She is also the founder and current president of ScienzaE:Association for the promotion of science and technology across the territory.
