Managing Director of the "Leonardo da Vinci" National Museum of Science and Technology

Born in Milan in 1955, Fiorenzo Galli obtained a degree in Political Economy and Finance from the University of Milan. He is married with two children and has been the Managing Director of the “Leonardo da Vinci” National Museum of Science and Technology since 2001.

He matured 20 years’ experience in the electromechanical sector as an entrepreneur in the family business.
He has filled positions in Confindustria and Assolombarda, and was a member of the Executive Council and Presidential Committee, and later President, of the Young Industrialists.
He is a member of Assolombarda’s Collegio dei Probiviri [College of Honest Men].
He is a member of the Scientific Council of the Interdepartmental Centre for Cultural Research and Services (University of Milan). He also lectures at the University of Milan, in the Faculty of Design and Management of Cultural Organisations, which awarded him the medal for cultural merit in 2001.
He is part of the “Inter-ministerial working group on the development of Scientific and Technological Knowledge” and of the Scientific Committee for the Dissemination of Scientific Knowledge of the Ministry for Universities and Research.
He is a member of the board of ECSITE (European Collaborative for Science, Industry and Technology Exhibitions), of the Kuratorium of the Deutsches Museum in Munich, and of numerous scientific committees.
He is a member of the Design Jury created by ADI (Association for Industrial Design).
He is a member of the National Committee for the Bicentenary of the Brera Art Gallery (Pinacoteca) in Milan.
He is on the International Advisory Board of the National History Museum of Tirana, Albania.
He received the “Scientific Capo d’Orlando Award”, which represents a public acknowledgement of those who have been successful in the worlds of multidisciplinary research, dissemination and scientific journalism, museum management and the promotion of science on the Internet.
